Nashoba Winery, Rockport and Gloucester

Published

As my time here in New England winds down, I had to keep my schedule flexible due to the weather.  Thursday was a picture-perfect day for wine tasting and samplings of spirits.  The Grounds at Nashoba are gorgeous and I couldn’t wait to sit outside and take in the crisp October air while sipping on wine and eating lunch.  Friday the forecast said it would rain in the western part of Massachusetts, so I drove East, all the way to Rockport’s Pebble Beach and the downtown area.  While going back to my Hotel, I explored Gloucester, Lexington, and Concord.  Images below are from Nashoba, Rockport, and Gloucester.

Lopresti and Deer Island Parks- Boston Area

Published

Yesterday I explored Lopresti and Deer Island Parks. Both are near Logon Airport but are amazingly quiet places to explore.  Lopresti Park is East of Boston, and you have great views of the skyline.  Deer Island Park has a huge wastewater treatment plant- LOL I felt at home!  For those of you that don’t know I’m a purchasing agent for a local government agency and my biggest internal customer of our wastewater treatment plants.  I didn’t know this until today after doing research for this post.  I was thankful the rain came in early allowing me to get these images and now the rain has come back in, so I was given a perfect window of opportunity.  It looks like the cooler weather is speeding up the fall color and I hope to post more images of fall tomorrow and later this week

Rock Harbor- Providencetown

Published

Today’s stop Rock Harbor and Provincetown, also I need to include late yesterday afternoon too I spent time at these two locations.  I will say this morning in Provincetown gave me the best images and met so many kind people, not just other tourists but kind store owners.  Coming from Minnesota, we don’t experience high and low tides like you all on the coast.  I love how the landscape changes due to the tides.  Today is my last day on the Cape and tomorrow I head inland for the rest of my trip.  I feel blessed that I get to have these great opportunities for travel (with CheeBah) and capture these awesome images.  Thank you to all my followers and I love reading your comments- thank you to non-followers who like my work as I post on Social Media.  If interested in collaborating with me, please DM me or email me at nmcguirestudio@gmail.com.  I’ve already received requests and love to work with other artists.  #Thursdayvibes #newengland #massachusetts #capecod #provincetown #fineartphotography #bnw_photography

Nauset Lighthouse and Cole Beach, MA

Published

Yesterday, at midday, I checked out Nauset Lighthouse Beach.  CheeBah freed herself from my grasp and decided to chase Seagull down the beach, people were laughing, and I was exhausted as I was used to chasing her in snow or grass, not on deep sandy beach.  She stopped to say hi to a nice couple and I was able to nab her leash, it was all good.  After dinner I packed up CheeBah for a fabulous East Coast sunset, yes, I wrote sunset!!  I spent some time using Google Maps to find the right place, checked the weather for conditions, and decided on Cole Beach.  Here are the images I took on Tuesday’s adventure.

Kangamangus Highway #112

Published

Yesterday’s drive along Kangamangus Highway was packed with people and not able to get the images I hoped.  I will say this area the colors were dry and not as vibrant.  I captured better shots last year but still wanted to see what else was around.  I found a few roads not far from Kangamangus Highway that I will explore later today.  As I write this post, I’m blessed to witness fog rolling down the mountain right outside my motel room. This collection of images are both color and infrared (black and white).

Willey House Saco River

Published

Today’s adventure I planned on exploring Echo Lake Beach a part of Franconia State Park.  On my way, I came across the Willey House Pond area.  The pond was a sheet of glass mirroring the landscape that framed it!  I was in awe as I walked around this tiny pond with grandiose views!  Images from today were taken there as Echo Lake Beach was a bust; wrong time of day and the lake was choppy.  So now I know to explore that spot later in the day!  Hope you enjoy the color and Infrared images!  I’m trying to decide which one or a few of these to make with my photoziacs!! Comments welcome.  More exploration awaits me and CheeBah.

Mt. Washington

Published

Today’s adventure was a trip to Mt. Washington Peak.  My Ego thought this peak was only ½ the elevation of Mt. Evan’s (located in Colorado) and thought the drive would be a breeze, I was way off.  This road doesn’t twist and curve like Mt. Evans, it’s more like a straight-up to the top; my heart was pumping, and my limbs were shaky.  I reached the top, explored, and chatted with other brave souls who trekked the peak.  Cheebs made a few friends and rolled in dirt leaving her calling card for future friends.  Going down I was concerned with my breaks as they did heat up a bit- forcing me to stop at each bump out, (like that wasn’t going to happen anyway).  This collection of images was taken today in both color and infrared.  Stay tuned for tomorrow’s adventure.

Sanctuary for the Soul – Commando Series PDF

Photozaic Commando series

How can I construct an image that moves beyond the surface? Photozaics, of course!  My award-winning Photozaics are inspired where Van Gogh’s textures meet Ansel Adam’s simplicity near the intersection of Bob Ross’ healing vibes. This series I call commando as for me its liberating to see the photo dancing in sync with the frame.

New Commando works

Published

Newly completed Commando Photozaics are now ready for their new forever homes! Hint of Gold Sunset, Reflections on Wachusett’s II and End of Day.  Hint of Gold sunset taken on my parent’s shoreline in Northern Minnesota (AKA my happy place).  Reflections on Wachusett’s taken in Massachusetts (side note: I will be in MA for most of October again this year).  The collection is expanding; the works are all sized 16.5×13.5×1 long edge.

Hint of Gold Sunset

Robert Frost wrote this perfectly:  Nothing Gold Can Stay.  Nature’s first green is gold, her hardest hue to hold.  Her early leaf’s a flower; But only so an hour. Then the leaf subsides to leaf So Eden Sank to grief, so dawn goes down today.  Nothing gold can Stay.  This view recharges my soul, I love sitting on my parent’s shoreline watching the sunsets and June didn’t disappoint. There’s no better way to reflect on a beautiful day than watching the sunset, knowing tomorrow is going to be just as amazing.  I enjoy my time spent with Mom especially after Dad passed away a few years back.  It’s funny how life’s perspectives change after you lose a parent.  I know that someday my time witnessing these beautiful sunsets on my parent’s shoreline will end but they will forever be locked inside my heart.

Reflections on Wachusett’s II

Like water which can clearly mirror the sky and the trees only so long as its surface is undisturbed, the mind can only reflect the true image of the self when it is tranquil and wholly relaxed. – Indra Devi.  This is image was taken at Wachusett’s Reservoir and I love the Natick Native American term which means “near the Mountain”.

End of Day
End of Day

Sunsets are proof that no matter what happens, every day can end beautifully by Kristen Butler- Go out and be one with Mother Nature; allow her to show you we are all one with the universe.  So, fill your heart with beautiful images that keep your Soul’s light shining bright!  End of Day reminds me of a symphony, where all participants flow in harmony, my camera is the composer- one of the best gifts given to me from nature.

Patiently Waiting comes from two souls that found each other in human form; spending their days together as one.  Until one day she passes on separating them into two.  She lays patiently waiting for her true love to join her again.
