Danger

Walking along Mississippi River Road in Saint Paul, Minnesota I found this sign warning me of the appending Danger of the cliff’s edge. I first thought this sign needed to heed its own warning, but more profound thoughts went to COVID and civil unrest while living in Minnesota; how as a society we are failing one another.  Simple gestures of kindness towards others seemed something of the past being replaced with a “me” civilization with extreme views laced with violence instead of using words and basic respect for one another, knowing that we can agree to disagree and still live in peace.  I believe we are all here to help raise each other up when we fall giving each other the support we need while dealing with life circumstances.

Pallet MTN

My soul was itching to get out and wonder; but instead of looking to natural landscape, a nudge from the universe to photograph industrial landscapes.  I wanted to bring attention to human consumption and waste of our natural resources.  What is man trying to do here?  Create a mountain of trash for the gods?  Or is it paying respect to Mother Nature trying to recycle what was taken from her?  What do you see?

Pallet Mountain

Pallet Mountain
My soul’s need to wonder led me to wonder about the industrial areas of Minneapolis and Saint Paul wanting to challenge my vision to photograph landscapes that I normally wouldn’t even take a second look at.  I viewed this as a man trying to create their mountain.  Were they trying to pay their respects to Mother Nature or something more deviant?
Danger in the Woods
Danger in the Woods

Danger in the Woods has never looked so inviting but don’t be fooled by its beauty as Danger is not far away.  I found this sign warning me of the appending Danger of the cliff’s edge.  This sign needs to heed its own message.

My soul’s need to wonder led me to South Saint Paul Industrial area wanting to capture images that I normally would not photograph.  I came upon this trash mountain of old wooden pallets waiting to be recycled into something new.
